Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign Everton striker Iliman Ndiaye. The move continues a major summer spending spree for the club, as they seek to bolster their attack before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old Senegal international is set to join after rejecting multiple new contract offers from Everton over the last year. Tottenham's activity comes as they sit 20th in the Premier League, having lost their opening two matches and conceded five goals without scoring.

Iliman Ndiaye offers Premier League experience and a proven goal threat. He joined Everton from Marseille in 2024 and has since scored 17 goals in 73 appearances for the Merseyside club. He played the full 90 minutes in Everton's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday. His arrival is part of a concerted push by manager Roberto De Zerbi to add firepower, following the signings of Savio and Omar Marmoush from Manchester City earlier in the week.

The proposed deal sees a path clear for Richarlison's departure to Everton. The Brazilian striker, who joined Tottenham from Everton for £60 million in 2022, is in the final year of his contract. De Zerbi left him out of the squad for Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United, stating the player had made his desire to leave clear. "Richarlison, I don't know. He said too many times he wants to leave," the manager said. This potential return to Goodison Park would mark a swift end to his four-year spell in North London.

Everton's business is not limited to the deal with Tottenham. Manager David Moyes confirmed the club received a £40 million bid from Nottingham Forest for 19-year-old homegrown talent Harrison Armstrong but will not sell him. Supporters chanted Armstrong's name during the Bournemouth draw, and Moyes acknowledged their influence. "I think you always have to consider supporters; supporters aren't always wrong," he said. The Toffees are also in talks to re-sign Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City. The 30-year-old winger spent last season on loan at Everton, making 22 appearances before a foot injury ended his campaign in January.

With the transfer window closing imminently, Tottenham's focus will quickly shift to improving their dire start to the season. They are six points behind leaders Manchester City and desperately need to find a winning formula. Their next opportunity comes in an away fixture against Nottingham Forest on September 5th. A positive result there is essential to begin climbing the standings. The integration of new signings like Ndiaye will be critical for De Zerbi as he looks to address the team's lack of goals and turn their form around.
