Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly told to pay in excess of £70m for Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo. According to journalist Pete O'Rourke, Liverpool do not plan on selling Gakpo, who has a long-term contract until 2030. The only way Gakpo could possibly move would be if Spurs were to make a huge offer of £70 million plus at least. Gakpo had an inconsistent campaign at Liverpool but managed to put in a run of productive displays for them in the final third. The Dutch talent registered seven goals and five assists in 36 league appearances for the Reds last season. Gakpo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it out on the flanks. He has the vision to create some promising chances for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with power from long range. The Dutch sensation is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as a centre-forward if asked to do so. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won't take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham. Gakpo would bring more firepower to Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi's frontline. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. At 27, Gakpo is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent option for the North London club to pursue this off-season. Therefore, De Zerbi should focus on going all out to land him before the end of this transfer window. The current league standing is 17th in the Premier League, with 41 points from 38 games, recent form WLDWW. Goals this season stand at 48 scored, 57 conceded, with a -9 goal difference. Tottenham are 44 points behind leaders Arsenal. Currently sidelined are Wilson Odobert, Xavi Simons, Dominic Solanke, James Maddison, and Mohammed Kudus.
