Tottenham Hotspur’s striker search for the 2026/27 season has hit a wall after Bournemouth refused to budge on Eli Junior Kroupi. The 20-year-old scored more goals than any Spurs player last term and Spurs see him as the ideal Harry Kane replacement.
Why Bournemouth are saying no
Bournemouth have told every club interested in Kroupi this window that he is not for sale. The Cherries want to keep their Europa League-bound marksman, who is valued at well above €100 million. Marco Rose, their new manager, has made it clear he sees Kroupi as a cornerstone of his project. Spurs tried to pry him loose anyway, but Bournemouth have dug in their heels.
What Spurs have done so far
Spurs have already reshaped their midfield and defence this summer. They swapped Cristian Romero for Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke at centre-back, but the attack still needs work. De Zerbi’s side scored 48 goals last season and conceded 57, leaving them nine behind the leaders with a -9 goal difference.
Who else Spurs are watching
Tottenham have also been linked with Alex Scott, a lifelong Spurs fan who plays as a central midfielder. Bournemouth are not entertaining offers for him either. The Cherries’ stance leaves Spurs in a tough spot after overpaying for Dominic Solanke a few years ago.
League standing (final 2025 table -- new season not yet under way): 17th in Premier League, 41 pts, 10W-11D-17L from 38 games, recent form WLDWW.
