Yves Bissouma has completed a move to Ajax after his departure from Tottenham Hotspur. The 30-year-old midfielder has agreed a short-term contract with the Dutch club that runs until the end of the season and includes an option for a further year.
Bissouma arrived at Spurs from Brighton in 2022 and went on to make 111 appearances for the club. His final season in north London saw him feature 11 times in the Premier League before his release in June. He was notably left out of the squad for the UEFA Super Cup in August 2025 due to issues with punctuality.
Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff confirmed the club had been in talks with the player since last month. "We have brought in an experienced player who knows what it takes to perform at the highest level," Cruyff said. "He is capable of playing in several positions, and we hope he will be available for selection as soon as possible."
Tottenham, who finished 17th last term, have begun the new campaign with two points from their first four games. They sit 17th again in the early standings after a 3-1 defeat at Liverpool on Tuesday.
